Last night was Math & Science Night at the girls' school. We went as a family and met up with our neighbors for an educational evening. It started in the gym with a science presentation containing lots of fizzles, bubbling concoctions, and smoke. The kids loved all the experiments. From there, the school was set up with stations that you could rotate every 20-30 minutes. We went to the "Amazing Arthropods" first. They got to see, touch, and hold some crawly creatures including, a caterpillar, millipede, and a stick insect. Next, we went to the Magical Math room briefly. Last year, the evening consisited of mostly math games, puzzles, & activities, but this year was more Science-centered. The kids each made a patterned necklace at of fruit loops before heading to our last station, "Amphibian & Reptile Mania". This was pretty neat. The kids learned about several reptiles & amphibians and saw up close: a toad, a boa constrictor, & a young alligator. Caden went between Brian & Ryan (our neighbor) & running around & looking at all the creatures. We all had a great time of fun & learning & we all learned something new!
